UFO Wednesday
Happy Thursday everyone! What did you get up to on your UFO Wednesday?
I have to admit, I didn’t do a lot. But I don’t feel as guilty about it as I should because I did a little cheating earlier in the week when I did have some time, so while there was only a few stitches yesterday, my week’s progress is great. I finished off the Christmas bauble tag, so this is what it looked like yesterday morning.
I was pleasantly surprised at how easy the bauble was to complete. I think the less half stitches there are, the better the thread holds up – that’s something for me to remember in future. Yesterday I worked and had to work late due to a hospital appointment in the morning, so by the time I got to sew I was too tired to do much without making mistakes, of which there were many. So I had to unpick some.
Sorry for the poor quality, my bedside lamp does it’s best, I promise. I usually end up finishing of my UFO Wednesday stitching in bed. One thing I did learn this week was how vital Thread Heaven is. I didn’t notice it making a difference, until I forgot to use it. Then there were tangles and knots galore! Take it from me people, Thread Heaven is the biz. No, I’m not sponsored by them. Or anyone else.
Congratulatins on finishing Vicky. It looks really good. I can hardly wait to see more pictures but you did a GREAT job. It is a good thing we have products like thread heaven to help with our stitching. I was told that there is a Krenick super fine that is easier to work with as far as mettalics go. I have also been told that Glissengloss is also good to work with. Of course you may want to take a break from mettalics for a while. 🙂
Thanks Micki! It’s not a real finish, but another tag down, only 5 or 6 to go. I do have some red Madeira metallic here, so I’m tempted to do a swap on my next pattern. I’ve never been able to get my hands on Krenick, but I sure would love to! Never heard of Glissengloss :S
Great progress this week, well done! A very cute bobble design, seeing that has me racing to finish my latest wee Christmas card design! My progress on Jacob Black went well, I have started to add in one of the darker shades now and he is becoming somewhat recognizable. The Wednesday SAL is a great idea, in the run up to Christmas I find myself swamped trying to do cards and bookmarks and other random festive stitches- but now Wednesday is purely “stitch-Jacob” day 😀
